No HST at BELLA

As we all know the HST has arrived in BC, and from all indications is here to stay! For all Buyers of new homes this means additional taxes when you purchase a new home on top of those already large taxes like the GST and the Property Purchase Tax.

At the BELLA, we said enough is enough! For a limited time until August 9, 2010 the developers at the BELLA will pay the net HST for you! This means if you buy a one bedroom and den at the BELLA you will save over $15,000 in tax. If you buy a two bedroom you will save at least $26,000! Sound incredible? It is incredible, but remember it is only for a limited time until August 9, 2010.

Guest Video Blog – BuildDirect

Today’s post is from a guest; Rob Jones at BuildDirect, an online building materials company that supplied Bella Homes with laminate flooring, and with sinks. His colleague Marc McPherson visited us recently, and shot a video …

Over the past year, this medium of blogging, and also Twitter, has allowed us to meet a lot of like-minded people. Last year, when we wrecked a floor to test the quality of our own laminate flooring products, Bella Living was there in the form of Peter Kefalas, who attended our patio party and helped us wreck our floor – he’s the one who brought the pickaxe!

Watching us wreck our floor, and watching us make videos of us doing it ran parallel to Peter’s own efforts in video. His efforts of course have been more constructive, rather than destructive.

He and his team have showed you how the Bella Homes development went from a construction project to a finished project of beautiful homes. We were pleased to be involved, in our small way. And now that the project is completed, BuildDirect’s Marc McPherson took a stroll over to Bella to see what the results of our involvement are. We supplied laminate flooring, and sinks. BBQ Season

With BBQ season fast approaching we thought we would share some video and photos of the MASSIVE decks on the second floor at BELLA in Burnaby. Well maybe BBQ season isn’t that close, but we ARE getting very close to finishing the building, and thought we would take some shots on a nice sunny January afternoon. Can you imagine having 400 square feet of private outdoor space for entertaining? These decks are amazing, and the use of the cedar truly compliments the building’s design.

A quick update from the construction team is that we are on track to have occupancy permits in February, which means that our buyers will be moving in to their brand new homes very soon! Pouring A Curb…

Just thought we would share this photo of the cement crew hard at work. January has been a wet month, so the crews were happy to take advantage of some sun to pour the concrete curbs on Edmonds St. in front of the building. From this angle you can also see the glass awnings that were recently installed over the retail units on the ground floor. Things are coming together quickly, and the next major step will be having the power turned on for the entire building. Sneak A Peek… Suite 404

It has been a crazy week at Bella. For those who have been following our progress lately, they know that we have been working many long hours pulling together suite 404 as we prepare to welcome all of the area Realtors to the project. Thanks goes out to everyone who helped out with the project over the last few weeks, it has been a fantastic show of support from the Bella team from top to bottom. We think the results speak for themselves, here are some “sneak a peek” images from the soon-to-be unveiled show suite on the top floor at Bella.

Pre-Christmas Concrete Pouring

The bulk of the major projects still underway at BELLA are on the exterior of the project. Now that the heavy construction on the building has been completed, and the scaffolding has been removed, it is time to begin finishing off the site. The month of December proved to be quite rainy (not a big surprise to those of us on the West Coast) which ended up pushing the main concrete pour date back until a few days before Christmas.

The good news is that we received a reprieve from the wet weather and were able to complete the parking area at the back of the building, along with some of the front sidewalk, planters and other structural work required for the landscaping. Post-holidays the team is back at work and has been taking advantage of the dry weather to get caught up on many of the remaining exterior projects. The sales team will be onsite again this weekend and the show suite will be available for viewing on Saturday & Sunday from 12-5pm.

The holiday sales season has been a very busy one – surpassing our expectations, and we look to be approaching a sell out early in 2010. If you have your eye on a specific unit, or are looking for a new condominium in the Burnaby area, come on down and take a peek. The value cannot be beat, and there are still a few deals remaining.
